Hi!
My name is Kayla and I live in Red Deer, Alberta.
When I was 5 years old I was apprehended and placed into the foster system. I bounced around to different foster homes, experienced many different forms of abuse and even spent some time in a group home. After being lucky enough to be placed in a wonderful home with a kind, loving and patient Christian woman I was able to graduate high school and received my diploma. Immediately after I graduated I made a series of bad decisions that left me divorced, with a child given up for adoption and living with my mentally ill mother by the age of 21.
I am now 25 and my life has changed drastically. I’ve wanted to write a book/memoir/biography for a couple of years now and I finally feel like I’m at a place in my life where I can actually do it.
I have had a very interesting and "colorful" life and I feel as though my story could help other people in similar situations. The only problem is I have no writing experience and no help or guidance in that area.
If there is anyone who is able and willing to help me or provide me with some resources that could help me so this whole process doesn't seem so overwhelming that would be incredibly appreciated.
