Hi guys, I've been trying to write this novel for years (yes, years) but between school and other things that came up I never found enough time to. But I've decided to set aside two months and get as much done on it as possible but I need a little kick in the butt to get started.
I'm having trouble transitioning between paragraphs and plotting everything on a timeline that makes sense without too much overlapping however I also don't want the story to extend 5 years.
Basically any help reading and editing would be so much appreciated, it would kind of be a collaborative effort as I try and push through this in the next two and a half months. The story follows a young lady's life in an 1850's town in America. She faces challenges in the first few years before being exposed to the bigger problem the town is facing: racism against a small camp of refugees living just outside the town walls. As she tries to understand what is happening, she realizes how big of a problem this is and she begins to question her loyalty as she pays more and more attention to the injustice happening to these refugees.
It probably doesn't make a lot of sense, you would have to read some of it to be able to start to understand. I'm writing this novel because I want to teach the reader lessons, things that you can't learn in school and you can't read on Wikipedia. The problems and the countless relationships and connections are my way of expressing these lessons. The novel is meant to have parts that are funny, some that are sad and others that are simply meant to be thought provoking. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated, thank you!
